DT05 Offroad Driver Training

Target Participant: Experienced Driver with License

Course Duration: 2 Days

Participant Numbers: Minimum of 6, Maximum of 12

Certificate: Provided

Vehicles: Participant Provided (Vehicles can be provided at an extra expense)

Spectators: Not permitted

Theory – Covers an introduction to 4WD Vehicles including:

• Vehicle Design and Functionality
• Safety Concepts
• Understanding terrain
• Vehicle limitations

Practical – This program focuses on the safe operation of off-road vehicles in a range of conditions:

• Negotiating steep slopes and rugged terrain – ascending and descending
• Emergency procedures – stall/stop and restart on slope
• Introduction to recovery equipment
• Correct use of the four-wheel drive transmission
• Limitations of 4WD/AWD vehicles
• Analyzing terrain, surfaces and hazards
• Environment and vehicle sympathy
